Ok /ck,
I'm considering buying one of these bad boys. Are they worth the money?
Are they worth anything?
Can you cook with them? Any experiences?

I already checked with blogs etc, but I guess every piece of junk has it's lovers and everyone knows 4chan is the epitome of wisdom.

I don't think it's worth it. For the same amount of money, you could get some cookware that will last you the rest of your life assuming you take care of it.

We'll select the $120 model since it's in the middle as far as prices go.

Dutch Oven, $60

https://www.amazon.com/Lodge-EC6D43-Enameled-Island-6-Quart/dp/B000N501BK

16 qt. (4 gallon) Stock pot, $23

https://www.amazon.com/Good-Cook-06182-Kitchen-Stainless/dp/B0041OR8HE

Set of 3 wire sieves, $12.50

https://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-Fine-Stainless-Steel-Strainers/dp/B007TUQF9O

Rice cooker, $20

https://www.amazon.com/Aroma-Housewares-Cooked-1-5-Cup-UNCOOKED/dp/B01AAAHD36

Now you can do all the braises, stocks, curries, rice, beans, stews, chilies, soups, etc. that you could ever desire.

And you still have $4.50 leftover.

and not a single pressure cooker in there

I considered one, and if I were low on space I'd buy one, but I have all the items listed, and a stovetop pressure cooker reaches far higher pressures than electric. I also have a couple of ovens that do very low heat for slow cooking.

OP died? But yeah if you already have a stove top pressure cooker and know how to use it without blowing up the kitchen, then it's better and faster. Electric pressure cooker is mostly for safety and timer functions.

Also FBI will raid you for bombs.

Fine:

Pressure cooker, $23

Remove the stock pot or expand your budget. You can make stock in the dutch oven and/or pressure cooker.

Personally I'd rather have the stock pot. You can cram it full of meat and vegetable scraps, and make a couple gallons of stock. Also can be used to make beer.

what do youmake in it, other than rice?

Also, how would a conventional pressure cooker even expode, seeing as it has a pressure indicator? Just don't leave it be for 2 hrs

I got that exact one because it was super cheap (on sale for 50ish) and my old slow cooker was on the fritz.

I've done the pressure cooker and the slow cooker so far. Pressure cooker was nice, slow cooker was nice. I like the timer function, I don't worry about overcooking/forgetting something.

Honestly, it packs a lot of function in a smaller space. Might as well, you never know what new tools would be fun to play with.

Fuck yes, m8. I got a similar make (IP reviews were much better but weren't available at the time) because I didn't have a stove or oven living in a truck, and it does fucking magic. Rice? 10 minutes. Dry beans? An hour. Just want to make a grilled cheese? Go for it. Want to slow cook stew? Go for it, then reduce it in the same pot.

It's even better when you aren't limited by a 3000w power system and have the rest of a kitchen for finishing dishes.
