Explain yourselves Bongs. Do you seriously put fucking mayonnaise on salads?

>> No.8116090

The rest of the world is lousy with mayo. They can't shovel that shit in their mouths fast enough.

I'm a typical American. I use mayo a half dozen times a year.

I would hardly call the "salad dressing" that are used by most much better.

exception being any vinaigrette.

Mayonnaise substitute during rationing. Stuck around.

That's salad cream, not mayonnaise. Quite clearly too.

it's not mayonnaise and it's never used in salads, i don't like it but some people use it on sandwiches and shit.

>> No.8116954

Salad cream isn't mayonnaise and yes, some people do but most use the bottled stuff or make it as per the standard oil/vinegar mixes.

>dat feel when salad dressings everywhere

Here in Mediterranean salad dressing is literally just vinaigrette. Not even blended variety, just vinegar and olive oil applied in sequence. Americans really take their salads to the next level and treat them as entire meals in their own right, though.

Bong here. French mother. Same with me. I buy the infused olive oils and plop them on followed straight with vinegar or lemon juice. Much smaller quantities. Too much fucking around otherwise and it's unnecessary.

Only time my mother would make it was with this or tomato and onion salads.

Garlic crushers are imperative.

It's closer to Miracle Whip than it is mayonnaise.

Do you put Miracle Whip "Salad Dressing" on your salad?

Yeah, what's wrong with that?

It's half water, calm down. It's just a shitty vingarette, makes cold pizza better.

Not all that different from Miracle Whip. In the early part of the 20th Century mayo was salad dressing for many people. That or mayo mixed with other condiments.
