alton brown and kenji lopez alt allow nerds who can only speak in DAE LE STEM MASTERRACE cook because a) they utilize the veneer of science to get their poitns across and b) they don't require these nerds to learn from a woman.

They're fine enough chefs and teachers in their own right, it's just they appeal to the same type of stemlord neckbeard losers who think Ready Player One and hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy is great literature.
