I actually tried this once because menudo from a good Mexican restaurant is GOAT, and I gotta say, this was much better than expected
The tripe was a bit mushy and kind of falls apart when you chew it, but overall I was pretty satisfied.
Also, people who prefer hominy in their menudo are all colossal faggots that should kill themselves

Used to share the same sentiment, until I started making hash out of leftover dishes. The crappiest steak with a baked potato, with the addition of a diced onion, makes the difference seem night and day. Haven't bought it since, even a nice runny egg and toast doesn't save it.
