Is it actually dangerous to eat undercooked chicken?

>> No.7967212

Chicken is much less acidic than other meats, so it's easier for bacteria like salmonella to survive and multiply.

If there isn't anything already present there's nothing inherently wrong with eating undercooked chicken (Look up chicken sashimi, it's a real thing), but it's not really a pleasant texture or taste.

If you hold your meat at 145 degrees for more than 4 minutes you kill like... 99.999% of the bacteria in the meat

That's fucking the most retarded thing i've ever read. That's not how salmonella works.

it goes numb

First of all, undercooked chicken is nasty. Second of all, at least 1/3 of market chicken has detectable salmonella. Eat up, and enjoy (at least) the shits, and at most the shits, pukes, dehydration and hospitalization.

Cook your chicken, and clean your cutting board.

It's not undercooked if it's pink, it's undercooked if it hasn't reached a sufficient temperature for a long enought time. Use a cooking termometer if you want to push the limits.

So, if you get pink chicken at a restaurant, are you going to check it's temp or send it back? My experience is that pink chicken in any situation hasn't reached 165, either in cooking or resting.

The issue is modern industrial scale chicken industry. There's shit in the abattoir.

If you want to eat raw poultry you need a Heritage Breed of chicken that you raise youself.
