I ate burritos for weeks trying to find the best combo. I settled with beef, refried beans, lattuce, cheese, onion and a little bit of sour cream. I love guac but it overrides the taste too much. Tomatoes make it too watery.

A "super" burrito from my neighborhood taqeria lets you customize the following:
Meat
Cheese
Spanish rice
Beans
Guacamole
Sour cream
Salsa
God tier chewy tortilla heated on their griddle

I usually go for steak, whole pinto beans, hot salsa, and no cheese. Throw in some escabeche, chips, and salsa verde/roja on the side and I'm eating my favorite meal.

You can add salsa or hot sauce as you go for taste, but I wouldn't.

Not him, obviously, but Chipotle just commercialized the taqueria standard and they weren't even the first. Taco Del Mar did it first (and better imo).

>> No.7948323

>>7947786
That's not the taqueria standard at all; it's the San Francisco standard, which is weird when you take into account the fact that Chipotle was started in Denver, where, besides the green chile, which is unique to the city, the Mexican food is usually in the San Diego style. Rice in burritos is extremely uncommon in the area outside of the chains.

It's the taqueria standard here in Colorado. You can call it the San Francisco standard all you like, but I have taquerias in my town that haven't changed in 50 years that follow the same policy.
