Is there some site that exists where you can input your location and it will prioritize recipes that have the most ingredients which are in season at your time and location?

Example: cabbage is not in season, is expensive and tastes like shit; so i'd like it to filter out recipes that call for cabbage.

No, but thanks for giving me and my silicon valley buddies an idea for the next billion-dollar app, OP!

Stop calling writing python 'coding'. It's just a placeholder till you actually write something working and you know it.

Wouldn't that be Visual Basic?

I'm afraid our parts of the internet didn't intersect much AOL babby, you wouldn't have had much chance to "punt" me

I used PHONE and TALK on OpenVMS terminals to talk to friends and family in other states well before your dad got his first AOL floppy in the mail, those have nothing to do with your cancerous community of neophytes

What is going on here? This thread was posted 12 hours ago, has zero replies, and is on the front page? Didn't it have like fifty replies just a minute ago?

Actually I think I figured it out. Op is a mod, got mad that the discussion wasn't what he wanted to see, so he wiped it and is trying to start over
Fuck you, mod op. Do your fucking job for once.

Talk to /g/. They might be able to program something based on the farming regions of the world and coming ingredients. For example, I'm in Ohio and while black currants could grow in this climate, it's impossible to find

Just don't use recipes that include things you don't want to use?

If you're too oblivious about your surroundings to be able to determine what is in or out of season, and then too helpless to choose recipes that don't include out of season ingredients, I don't know what to tell you.

This post has to be the best goddamned troll I've ever bore witness to. For one, I've never heard anybody describe cabbage as being "too expensive". That sounds like some hipster shit, in that you're pretending to be concerned about your grocery bill, when you're quite obviously not getting your produce from a cheap grocery chain.

And second, is there really demand for a program to help hipster sluts sift through in-season recipe lists? If I google your question, am I going to see a dedicated discussion in yahoo answers, or am I going to be linked to a Reddit post dedicated to people laughing at this exact thread?

This is what happens when you give helpless man-children mod power
They come to the internet asking the internet to research an app that can cater to their man-baby mentality, and if any answer doesn't cater to their man-baby mentality, they just delete it and ban the person for having the wrong opinion

Not quite what you're looking for, but there is a site called yummly that allows you to exclude ingredients from search, and allows you to personalize your search based on cuisines you like, as well as your skill level and things like taste levels (saltiness, sweetness, etc)

You have to log in to use the site though.

>cabbage is expensive
what are you on about you idiot? cabbage is always dirt cheap. if you think around sixty cents for a head is expensive then you've got bigger worries than what's in season
