What's the best sandwich and why is it mister crunch? I had it today for the first time since everything else looked boring and it was amazing
Turns out the French can cook after all

I came into this thread to troll you for not knowing what croque monsieur was called, but then I took a moment to reflect and realised that it actually does mean mister crunch. I trolled myself. 10/10 OP

Isn't croque monsieur just grilled cheese with ham? Did you never have these as a kid growing up in America with leftover ham from New Year's day or Easter dinner?

Left over thanksgiving dinner sandwich.

Interestingly, some sandwich shops will make them for you fresh, and they're still delicious.

it's a grilled cheese with ham and béchamel
the cheese is usually gruyère

ham bechamel and cheese are in the middle
cheese on top

add an egg if you like burying your face in a meaty vulva

Yeah I make these sometimes during spring/summer because they are too good to not have and I'll cook a whole turkey every other month or so, or a whole chicken. But good turkey lunch meat is fine for it.

I do:
12 grain toast
1 side with very light mayo and cranberry sauce mix
1 side with gravy
So it ends up
--toast--
Cranberry mayo
Turkey
Stuffing or mash potatoes but never both
Gravy
--toast--
