If you use a vacuum pump, how much longer does it make an average bottle of red wine last?

The bottle still lasts the same amount of time, but you could gain at least an inch

Wine, like vodka, goes bad after you open it. Recommend finishing the whole bottle within the hour.

Still around one hour or less

From the research I've done on 4chan, about an hour extra life to your wine. Not really worth it if you ask me

You are wise.

A couple of of days at most. Generally nothing more than a day.

Better to switch bottle to a small one, fill it up to the brim with wine, and seal. Minimum air = minimum oxidation. Works better on fortified wines, though. Inert gas have kept wine for up to a week.

I had the same thought at first but I think he's talking about stretching the life of a bottle once it's been opened. since unopened it can last literally hundreds of years if not more
