>he drinks coffe that wasn't brewed with purified water poured over immediately burr ground single origin beans roasted within the past three days into a clean chemex at a 15:1 ratio

>> No.7785227

That's all honestly pretty standard these days, even in flyover land.

>> No.7785358

15:1 is a poor ratio and weak on coffee - 18:1 is the best ratio and generally yields the best results on refraction tests

also chemex kinda sucks esp the filters

You didn't even rinse your filter, newfag. Also, a 7.5% ratio of ground beans to total weight of water is the only patrician brew ratio for chemex.

18:1 is much weaker. You have it backwards. Espresso, for example, is usually 1:1 to 3:1.

No offence but why do Americans pretend to like or understand coffee. They dont and cant understand it. Northern Europeans are culinarily incompetent but id trust them over an American for coffee

how ever much water you're planning on using in grams times 7.5% = the amount in grams of ground coffee.

so, for 700g of water x 7.5% = 52.5g ground coffee. simple.
