I'm staying in Austria and the pizza I just ate had stones in the olives. Do Austrians eat pizza in some bizarre way where this makes any kind of sense or is their catering industry run by dentists?

Olives grow above ground but are pushed into the soil as they mature, it is at this point that the olive fruit usually acquires a stone. By sifting the soil for stones, stone free olives can be grown and if pimento is addded to the soil, the olive will form around them.

I thought I fucked up after the first tablet, so doubled up and tried again.
Didn't fuck up,I have no plaque. I dyed everything in the bathroom pink except my teeth.

The farmer floods the fields. This is actually common for non anchovy olives too, not because olives need flooding to flourish but because it's unusually adept at surviving in flooded fields, keeping down the numbers of weeds and pests.

olive trees do well with cherry trees if enough stones are added to the soil when the tress are planted - they can't be added later because it attracts rock moths which devastate the orchards
