What foods stay in your stomach the longest / what foods digest slowest in your stomach?

>> No.7615026

As far as I'm aware, fat is the primary nutrient that delays/prolongs stomach emptying. I think fiber doesn't do that, it only has a noticeable effect in the intestine and colon.

casein is pretty slow to digest, as far as proteins go

Dabbling with keto in the past has taught me fats only digests slow if you eat non fats with it.

For example, a bowl full of two scrambled eggs will make you hungry as fuck in two hours, but not if you have toast with it.

I don't know the timeframe, but poutine tends to sit in the stomach like a god damned brick.
Worth it though.

In the OP you asked what food stays in the stomach the longest. That question is very different from the question of which food digests most slowly, or is most satiating. I hope you are aware that the bulk of digestion and nutrient absorption occurs in the small intestine, not in the stomach. The digestion of carbs and fats begins in the mouth with lipases and amylases, but most of it is still intestine. Protein enters the small intestine unchanged, but that doesn't mean it stays in the stomach the longest. Fat delays gastric emptying after it enters the small intestine, it's a signaling thing.

from personal experience, anything with protein, carbs and a bit on the oily side. So a sausage + egg + english muffin in the morning, even a small one would keep hunger away from like, 5-6 hours.

Oh, so if I want to inhibit growth hormone by eating carbs/fats, what would you eat then?

I was thinking butter toast or sphagetti w butter
