i made cornbread the other day and it turned out really awful. it has this really awful bitter aftertaste.

i used soymilk.. and instead of buttermilk i acidified the soy milk with yoghurt..

i mean texture wise it was fine, i would have really prefered a sweeter bread though if the nasty bitterness wasn't an issue.

kind of upset at how much ingredients i wasted but it was a good learning experience. i truly did not think that soy milk would make it so BITTER. i have baked with it before and it's been fine. i didn't think adding the yoghurt would make it taste that way. to be honest it still kind of confuses me. the bitter taste didn't really taste of soy milk or yoghurt which is what surprises me. maybe the soy milk just doesn't react well to yoghurt? if anyone has anything to say to shed a light on the situation i'd appreciate it.

That photo looks objectively unappetizing. Meat looks grey and dry, cheese looks cold and unmelted (implying the meat is also cold), bread looks dense and dry, vegetables lack deep colors. I'd eat that if I was starving, but not otherwise. Are you a troll?
