Trader Joes Joe Joes are the only suitable knock off oreo because of the following reasons

>doesnt try to overtly copy oreo recipe while just changing enough to not get sued

>you can actually bite through the cookie, as opposed to knock offs

>the recipe for the cookie and the cream (vanilla vs frosting) are fundamentally different from the Oreo ones, creates a unique flavor that keeps oreo concept, but does not try to piggyback the taste

Most "oreo knockoffs" literally have the taste and texture of dirt mixed with cocoa powder.

Also, technically Oreos are a knockoff of Hydrox, because they came first.

yeah, but hydrox havent been relevant since like the 60s, so for all intents and purposes oreos are all that matters as a benchmark

So, largely identical to an Oreo, then?

The Nice! brand from Walgreens tastes very similar to actual oreos.

>still trying to imitate oreo taste

then they are still failing on a fundamental level

The ones with chocolate inside are pretty good, they taste like chocolate frosting in a cookie. I don't buy them very often because I tend to eat too many.

This. I've found they absorb milk more readily than Oreos, which is a good thing while dunking. Sometimes you don't want to wait an extra minute, only to find that the cookie's still dry inside. The TJs are a simple 15-20 seconds of dunk, consistently saturated, every time.
