Veloute+chicken+vegetables. Put that stuff in a pie and bake it.

My mom is a terrible cook and makes a good chicken pot pie, I'm sure you will do great.

It's the easiest thing in the world apart from the dough, which isn't necessary if you just use some frozen dough.

get a rotisserie chicken or make your own if you want, make some sauce, put some veggies in, put it in the fuckin' oven.

Veloute is just broth thickened by roux. So like a gravy sans fond. If you happen to roast the chicken yourself you should definitely add the fond though. My mother also added a bit of cream and it's quite good. Though it dulls the chicken flavor a bit, the added richness is welcome.

If you have ever thickened a sauce with roux, you can definitely handle it. If you don't have homemade chicken stock then buy a good quality one, since it's the entire backbone of the dish.

yeah everything he said

honestly though my aunt used to use just campbells cream of whatever shit and it turned out alright. a little weird, but alright. that being said using your own cream and chicken stock is 1000x better and like he said, the entire backbone of the thing. so do that. its really pretty impossible to fuck up. it'd like fucking up buttered noodles.

>easiest thing to do
>requires dough
>requires a roast chicken
>requires some rich gravy

that's 3 things. that ain't that easy.

you can get a freshly roasted chicken from every grocery store in my area, and every state ive been to. I use those every time. they are seasoned correctly and only cost a few bucks.

a roux with chicken stock takes about 10 minutes.

look up something like 'homemade cream of chicken' because that's essentially what it is.

I'm not sure of any measurements but melt some butter in a pan, few tablespoons of flour and stir it in and cook it til its darkish yellow, add some chicken stock and simmer for 8-10 minutes or so.

The only thing I like about those is that the pie encases the filling. I hate pies where it's just a stew with a pastry lid
