Redpill me on milk, /ck/

Growing up i always heard it gives you strong bones, helps you grow, etc but now I'm hearing milk is actually not good for you past a certain age, once you can get Vitamin D from better sources.

Nowadays I only use it for shakes, baking, milksteaks, or cereal, so even if there is a risk im sure im on the low end but I am curious.

If you are fit a glass of whole milk now and then is good.

Especially if you exercise.

Fun fact: Human breast milk is the only thing you could consume your whole life and be completely nutritionally satisfied (nosauce)

Sugar is a fucking drug with the exact same brain readings as cocaine, human beings functioned perfectly fine without it before. There is no way to justify intentionally poisoning yourself with sugar in 2016.

Well yeah, lactose. Anything ending in -ose is a sugar. Lactose, dextroae, sucrose, fructose. There's nothing inherently bad about sugar, though.

"brain readings" eh? humans functioned fine without the internet either, and it also negatively affects people in some ways.

and humans have always looked for honey or other sweet foods.

some people consuming too much sugar doesn't mean any amount of sugar is LITERALLY A POISON DRUG for all people.

If you want to lose weght or maintain weight and you're small, you'd probably best stay away from it, but it's a fucking solid source of calcium vitamin D,Saturated fats, omega-6/9 (can't remember whcih one),pretty good protein source, plus loads of other shit that's pretty good but I can't remember and it's easy to drink if you're not a nigger.

People meme a lot about it being bad but it's pretty much autists that think anything with calories is bad, and vegan humus smokers and soccer mom types

*Disclaimer: I can't vouch for American milk which apparently is fairly dodgy due to stupid amounts of Bovine estrogen

>> No.7439515

yogurt is better on every level

for additional calcium and vitamin d, canned salmon is actually a pretty good source

Milk every now and then is fineee, the thing is marketing took advantage of some study many years ago that said that indeed, milk provides calcium.

They latched onto that like a virgin to his pokemon dakimakura until eventually generations grew up 'knowing' it is the best source of calcium in their diets.

Which turns out to be wrong, not meaning it does not provide calcium, just that other foods provide lots more of it with less calorie and fat intake.

There's also the problem with modern day dairy products where they have to formulate complex chemical mixtures to make a cow serve a couple thousand people in one go.

If you are making use of it on a daily basis it is quite probable that you experience constipation frequently (or you may not know that going to the can one time a day is not the optimal thing for your body) and/or respiratory issues, more in tune with excess mucus causing problems somewhere in your digestive system.

A generally good recommendation is to stop drinking it every day, mix it up with almond, coconut, rice, etc milk and use it moderately.
