I'll eat anything if prepared the right way, but I think soups and stews are disgusting. The entire premise is DOA, so there's no preparing them correctly in my mind. The influence of the gene is minuscule. It means you can taste an extra flavor within cilantro which might taste unpleasant at first until you get used to it. It does not bar you from being able to like cilantro, not even close.

The actual data on this, not the Wowzer Science Fact it turned into, has something like people who dislike cilantro being very slightly more likely to have the gene than those who do like cilantro. Wow, it's fucking nothing!

Personal anecdote: I hated cilantro as a kid. It tasted like dish soap. As I kept trying it I gradually began to find it okay, then nice, then great. These days I love the stuff. It still tastes kind of soapy but in a delicious way. I also used to dislike coffee, beer, dark chocolate, liver, eggplant. Foods with weird unusual flavors. After trying them a number of times I convinced my brain that the weird taste was not poison, and I got to like all of them.

Cilantro is no different, it's just a funny tasting herb that maybe some people have to try a little harder to get into. You're not a special fucking snowflake, it isn't written in your gene code that you can never enjoy cilantro. Don't get sucked in by shitty false overblown presentations of very weak correlations.
