Is anyone into baking cakes, either for business or pleasure?

I bake for every birthday in my family. I've honed my Cheescake recipe and its requested for 6 out of the 8 birthdays in my inmediate family.

While the CK is good, I'm trying to diversify. This is a cake I baked for my sisters birthday. It was delicious. Sadly I ran out buttercream during frosting and I didn't have time to do a porper second layer, so it looks uneven.

I'm kinda digging the look now though.

Anyhow, post your baking, post recipes, post cake decoration info.

Without the buttercream cover.

>three chocolate layers
>dulce de leche and cream cheese filling
>vanilla buttercream

I don't like icing/buttercream/frosting or what ever you call it.

So most of my cakes tend to be very simple but tasty cakes without much added to it.

Pic related being a recent exception and was my brother's bday request... spiced layer cake with a goat cheese frosting and spiced caramel drizzle.

Not as pretty as I could have made it, but it was very good.

>goat cheese frosting.

I sincerly can't imagine it

It is... The tangyness of the cheese compliments perfectly with the dulce de leche so that it doesn't become too sweet. Important when dealing with a shitload of fat and sugar on the frosting.

very soft goat cheese, the spreadable kind, it's very mild but it has a nice tang to fight against the spice from the cake and the caramel.

You don't make this with the very strong kind, obviously.

But I swear I could have eaten the whole bowl by the spoonful.

Pistachio rosewater cake. it was my first time piping roses so they're not the best. But I really loved this flavor combination.

I would get all involved with baking but I am a fatass so it would be a very bad idea.
