I don't get why everyone just eats raw fucking celery. Its a vegetable just like any other with a great unique flavour, if you cook it. Celery in stews, celery in risotto, celery in pasta sauces, celery in pies. i'm actually pretty sure that when you get older, your tastebuds develop (or you just stop being autistic about tastes) when you get older. i used to hate or dislike a lot of things when i was younger but as i've gotten older i've started loving or at least liking those same things. These include, but are not limited to, olives,brussel sprouts,parsnip, broccoli, cooked carrots and cooked cauliflower.
anyways, there's still one thing that i really dislike and i don't even know what it is, it's some sort of seafood, i've had it once and it was a nigirizushi. really white in color, looked and felt slimy and was chewy as fuck. anyone know what i'm talking about?

Pretty much the same thing happened to me, though I have no greek ancestry to speak of. I absolutely fucking hated olives as a kid, then when I hit about 19 or 20 I tried them again and found that I loved them.

I wish the same thing would happen with seafood for me. I still gag whenever I try to eat most fish and shellfish. Occasionally I can get some down when it's chopped up and mixed in with something else but even then, sometimes the flavor and/or texture just get to me.

I have no idea why. I remember eating and liking fish when I was really young then for some reason I just stopped liking it and trying to eat it would make me feel sick. I don't even remember any traumatic experiences or food poisoning from fish or anything either.
