I guess it gives you more surface area for mallard reaction to take place.

Sure I'd get one.

Not making a kebab is the most obvious fuck up here tho.

You wouldn't, unless you were American

I saw a place on food network years ago that deep fries their hot dogs and they get really crispy. I would like to use that thing for deep fried hot dogs.

Isn't the point of a hot dog to have a nice snap when you bite into it?

I think I just might buy this thing to use for sounding

yea, no. Hot dogs are like 25g of fat, the juices stay put.

I often butterfly a hot dog lengthwise, and pan fry, the flavor is much better.

I've been in restaurants, and esp where it's grilled, where several slash marks are made on opposing sides, so the dog doesn't curl up when cooking.

The point of a hot dog is to turn scraps of meat into an edible product.

Not in Michigan. There are laws on the books mandating high quality meat for all hotdogs served in the state.

have you seen that thread about stupid terms people use to describe food?
> nice snap
that's one of those stupid terms. Use words that actually have meaning in context instead of falling back on purple prose from sixties cookbooks.

Also, what the hell kind of hotdogs are defined by their snap?

Natural casing hot dogs are prized for their "nice snap" It's used quite commonly among hot dog fans (google hot dog snap). It has meaning in context and it's about as far away from purple prose as it gets.

If you are going to be ignorant you should try not to be so indignant.
