Your problem is that you live significantly closer to large Italian population centers and other pizzerias. Places like pizza hut and dominos stay in business because they set up shop in areas with minimal competition from higher quality products, have huge advertising budgets so that people with better options may not even know about their alternatives, and can afford to hire larger staffs and keep their places open late, which is when drunk/stoned people who aren't within walking distance of anything good to eat start ordering delivery in droves. If you're in Europe, the only reason they even opened a place up there is in hopes of catching some of the novelty market.

Can I just say. I'm stoned. So take the way I type with a pinch of salt.

But here's the thing. Okay. I live in the UK. And we only got Papa Johns here recently. Maybe a year ago. So i'm pretty hyped. Because the only real 2 chain brands we have around here are Dominos and Pizza Hut. Now I think Pizza Hut is actually decent tier if you aren't expecting top fucking quality food, because you dont get that from these places anyway. But after a few joints or beers, i'd tackle one or two pizza hut pizzas happily enough. And as for Dominos, well the main thing I notice about that is their pizzas, at least here, have a very unique taste to them. As in, if i tasted one of their pizzas in a blind taste test i'd know it right away. So the question is, with that being said it really comes down to do you like the thing they have going on. And for me, the answer is meh, sort of. It has that thing to it where sometimes, you're like 'fuck it, I really feel like a Dominos right now.' Or, oh, it's 2 for tuesday. Might as well get a few.'

So anyway, back to getting Papa Johns here at last. Well I was hyped. People like to hate on the americans but i'm always very happy to sample their fatty junk foods because they're extra delicious (again, if youre not expecting amazing quality ofc'. So I ordered the papa johns with high hopes. Now this is where the story gets interesting. I'll tell you the long version. I got my pizza with the free tub of special garlic sauce. And I presumed it'd be delicious like every other garlic sauce i've gotten with a pizza before, so I did my usual thing and poured a little drizzly over every slice.

And guess what. It was not great. So overpowering with that super rich, buttery taste. So the pizza was a disappointment. I was sad for a while. But a couple of months later I gets an urge out of nowhere. I says to myself, i'd like to give Papa John another shot. So I gets online and I goes through the menu and I finds myself 2 nice pizzas

, since its buy one get one free day. And they came, and this time I opened the garlic sauce and put it to the side. I tried the pizzas without it. 'Oh shit, this is actually pretty good'. So I keeps eating them both and just using the crust with the dip this time (the crust is soft and warm and perfectly chewy, just the way I like it myself), the pizzas were easily better than dominos and pizza hut tier. And god, that pepper that comes with it is amazing. So full of juice. So anyway, the tl;dr is i'm a big papa johns fan and dont understand all the hate around it.

And my favourites are the papas favourite and club chicken.

I really love my local place but they have terrible hours, is a further drive than most, and take 30-40 minutes to be ready for pickup. When I was a domino's driver, I got hourly, plus 50p - £1 per delivery and any tips where mine. It's actually good money some times, I could make minimum £20, even upto £40 in tips, tax free. But if it's quite and there is no tips, its shit money.

There is a takeaway near me that the drivers make a minimum £100 a night at the weekends.

Hit and miss somtimes though.

I used to work at Pizza Hut and then I worked at a local pizza place..The differences between the two are fresher ingredients and the biggest one is how they prep the dough. Pizza hut is a frozen circle slab of dough that defrosts in a fridge overnight. The local place makes fresh dough every morning. So I assume most famous chains defrosts their dough, which is never as good as the fresh homemade. I still eat from both places though.
