>first round one of the ingredients is fish
>the first chef has been a vegetarian since he was 6
>makes the worst dish and loses round 1 and kicked off the show

Why would you sign up for a cooking show if you don't eat half the fucking food they cook on those shows? Did you just think they'd give you exceptions? Christ

>> No.7027146

Quite true in my experience. Do you fucking think fish is not an animal?

I think it was an episode of chopped where they had a vegan on, and they didn't have meat (May have been vegetarain themed). At the end though, dessert round, they had honey, and the guy was on the verge of tears when he saw it and then in the post show interview too, crying about the bees suffering. I don't think I've ever cringed harder.

>> No.7027318

And what exactly is wrong with that? At least they aren't fucking vegan.

Honestly, pescetarians probably have the healthiest diet. High in vegetables and shit, without some of the inherent health problems of eating lots of red meat, and without the health problems that vegans have.

Not to mention, it's a pretty ethical choice. You aren't supporting the massive industrial slaughter of animals like cows and chickens (although I only buy my meat from local farmers so I don't support it either). And if you only eat sustainable fish, you're being pretty environmentally conscious.

>And if you only eat sustainable fish
That is a big assumption. And the alternative is extremely harmful to the environment.

>although I only buy my meat from local farmers so I don't support either
I think this is a good idea if you can afford it, but you do realize non-industrial animal raising cannot be scaled sustainably. The earth isn't big enough for even a significant portion of our population to feed off of free range animals.

But you are right about the health thing. I agree that pescatarianism is extremely healthy.

Yeah, I realize that the vast majority of people can't afford to buy locally farmed meat. And finding sustainably farmed fish takes a lot of research, and it's not always available everywhere. But pescetarianism is definitely the healthiest option, yeah. Greeks, despite being hairy and broke as fuck, are pretty healthy and they pretty much just eat fish and olive oil

I think it's more funny how people wanna label themselves
"meat eaters"
"vegans"
"plant eaters"
sounds no different then announcing what religion you like or dislike every conversation. I for one know what I like today might change tomorrow so why label myself?
we're humans we constantly change our opinions to progress and become better human beings.
My stomach personally can't handle eating red meat without feel like shit afterwards
so I eat tuna, salmon and lots of spinach and lettuce
I also love putting honey on my oatmeal sometimes
seems like everbody has become a parody of those dating sites that tried to compete with eharmony and shit
christianmingle or blackpeople meet

I personally enjoy Cutthroat Kitchen. It's a lot more lighthearted, and my father likes to watch it with me too. Plus I love Alton Brown.
