It's safe, really. Not a single case of trichinosis found in pigs in over 20 years in Germany. Where people have been infected it's always been because of irresponsible butchers who sold wild boar meat they got from hunters without having it checked by a veterinarian first.

Dude, America hasn't had a case of trichinosis coming from its pork longer than Germany. Like since the 70s or later I think, all the cases in the US come from people who recently went to Mexico because their farming is retarded and filthy. The way we farm pigs breaks the life-cycle of the worm so it died out except for rare cases in wild animals. Hell, American wild hogs are safer usually than Mexican pork.

When it comes to trichinosis US pork is as safe or safer than Germany, dont know about their use of antibiotics and types of feed.

Trichinosis, it is a type of worm that comes from undercooked pork that has been infected by coming into contact with the feces of an animal that carries the adult version. When humans eat pork that carries the worm, it can infest our intestines and we can also act as a secondary host to the offspring which burrow through your intestine into your body and lodge themselves in various organs and muscles including the brain, heart, liver, etc.

If you break the chain of transmission the worm dies out and it is treatable with medication if caught early, but it is very tough to figure out you have it in time since it is both rare and asymptomatic to most people.

You usually wont notice you have it until one or twenty of the juveniles lodge in your brain and you start having seizures
