Saddest meals thread

This morning I had beef ramen with diced hotdogs, because it was literally the only meal I could come up with and I don't get payed 'till tomorrow.

It was actually really satisfying tbh. I like to cook the ramen until its still rather firm, drain out all of the water, then mix in the cold diced weenies and the flavor packet with some more water and nuke it for another minute.

You may want to check your own wiener, because those hotdogs are not diced.

Saddest thing I ever made was right before payday when I'd had an awful emergency and didn't have my usually fallback money.
Took all the frozen beans in the fridge and made a "soup" with salt and my last bay leaf.
It tasted so bad. We had so few beans and that one bay leaf just made everything bitter.

Try cooking it until still rather firm.
Get a pan hot (medium high) and add a bunch (3 cap fulls) of oil.
Add the DRAINED ramen and the hotdogs.
Stir them around a lot until the noodles start getting some crispy on them (not burnt).

Cook the noodles with the flavoring packet, but use way less water than called for. It'll flavor the noodles a bit. Or you could just sprinkle some of the seasoning on the noodles while frying. Just don't use the whole packet. It would be overpowering.

My sad meals don't compare, but hotdog on a steamed bun with melted american cheese and using pic related to make general tso chicken.

When I was a child I went for lunch at a friends house after church.
His mom served up "saveloy soup" with the saveloys chopped up small in the brine.
I guess the worst thing was the 'brine' had no flavor, it was just water with no seasoning whatsoever.

During a business trip all I had access to was a microwave, so I threw all of this into a bowl and ate it in my hotel room.

Microwaved public school tier frozen meatballs, cut into pieces
instant mashed potatoes in a pouch
1 can of sweet corn
some beef gravy

It honestly wasn't too bad tbh but I had the nastiest shits the following day.

A friend of mine told me that when she was very poor growing up.
Her mother worked at a 7-Eleven back then. She and her sister routinely had a single baked potato for dinner, shared between them, along with whatever recently expired food the Sev would have otherwise thrown away.

I don't think there's a single meal sadder than a shared baked potato with expired hotdogs from a convenience store.

If you have a piece of bread or hot dog bun, you can cook the ramen, drain the water; but keep a few tablespoons for the powder pack. You make a thick paste with a little water/pack and mix it around the ramen; which should be fairly 'dry'. Put noodles in bread/bun and you essentially have a Yakisoba sandwich which is popular in Japan.

If you have an Asian grocery near you, you can also buy Yakisoba sauce which is like a really sweet tasting oyster sauce imo. I have some actually right now. hm.

>bread with hot sauce
or
>bread with salt

Many of my meals 2010-2012 were pretty fucking sad.

It was a low point in my life that I'm still recovering from 3 years later. Sample meals:

>Cornmeal and water fried in a pan.
Tasteless and made me feel like I was shitting sand paper

>Flour, sugar, and butter mixed in a measuring cup.
Like cake batter, only even more sad.

>Chicken so freezer burned it looked like it was freeze dried
Literally soaked it in water before eating

>Ramen noodles and ketchup

>made a birthday cake for myself one year, fucked it up and threw the hot pan across the apartment in a fit of rage
Then I went to the liquor store and bought three bottles of the cheapest liquor they had and got shit faced for a day and a half

Goddamn I was in rough shape. Depression is a hell of a drug.

I know it's said a lot, but don't do it. I've attempted it six times before, and I can tell you for a fact it does get better. If you need someone to talk to, call the suicide hotline. If your life feels empty, go out there and do something. I don't know exactly what's weighing down on you, but I know exactly how it feels. Just go out there, go trick or treating, go to a haunted house, eat good food, drink with friends, make friends, drink while watching Friends, but whatever you do, don't do it. There's more to life than you know, and lots of it is fun. It's tough, but it's fun. Get Netflix if you don't have it, some shows on there are God-tier.
