because we wash them for some reason.

we also refrigerate them for some reason.

we refrigerate them, because we washed them. If they weren't washed they wouldn't need refrigerating.

>>6990071
We mostly just have white chickens, some brown chickens. There are a couple blue chicken farms, but those eggs are hard to find outside the immediate region.

>let me guess, you also put ketchup in the fridge
after a long-running argument with a former roommate we called up heinz.
we needed an answer.

>thank you for calling heinz customer support what can i..
>DO WE NEED TO REFRIGERATE KETCHUP?
>ugh, this again. no sir, you need not refrigerate our ketchup product and it'll stay until its best by date
>however, refrigerating ketchup will allow your ketchup to remain fresh well beyond that date

true story, now you know.

They are called "something blue" right?

blue chickens lay blue eggs.

The only color coding breakdown is that blue chickens sometimes lay green eggs. But they are a bluish green.
Also black chickens lay brown eggs. And some brown looking chickens have red in their name, despite being brown.

>Mass produced eggs in yurop are also white.

I only asked because I've literally never seen an egg like that

thought it must be a different breed or something

>> No.6990471

It's the breed of chicken, you can tell by looking at their ears what color the eggs will be

We buy "used" cage hens from time to time, we have currently 3 different generations.
They all have different eggs. They have white eggs at start, and then more than less brown.
I thinks it's the feeding.

>> No.6990532

>>6990080
Washing won't remove the color, only the salmonella infected chicken feces the egg is caked in.

Refrigerated eggs keep longer washed or not.

Depends on the chicken breed. My grandma had both kinds.
