you get a bowl of water, chill the fuck out of those eggs with ice. and once theyre cold, you run a slight streem of water, take an egg in your hand, cracking it to loosen the shell in a place, so that you can peal a workable area away, then take the crook of your thumb, and gently work away the shell with the water; this is easier of you wear gloves but beats fingertips even gloveless any day of the weak.

It's not genetic modification in general that is necessarily bad but it is a new field to approach with caution and rather than making magical perfect more nutritious food for us all the current state of things massively focuses on just making plants more resistant to pesticides so we can spray them with more pesticides because pests are adapting to pesticides from their overuse.
The few token modifications to represent all the potential of gmo and convince you that it's saving the world such as golden rice and orange bananas are priced far above the accessibility of the peoples they are supposed to help.
There are other concerns of monopolies and business practices as it is largely one company that is making bank off of pesticide resistant plants and as companies tend to do they aggressively pursue market domination and copyrighting of their products, in this case genes, but in the process try to exert ever more control over the farmers using their seeds and have been frequently accused of anti-competitive practices.

I believe gmo is bad for crops because they cause a problem with pollination of non gmo. The fact that you can't save seed from gmo because it's engineered that way in order to corner the market and if a gmo plant cross pollinated a non gmo, now the non gmo is basically going to produce a pirated gmo product, there has been litigation over this in courts. This is beyond fucked up for farmers who want to save seed and natural diversity.
Plus a lot of gmo shit tastes disgusting, the super starchy corn grown for most corn products like corn syrup and starch and alcohol is unedible without heavy processing. If this shit mixed and spread with most varieties of other corn we would lose something delicious.

Today you're going to learn something about chemistry:
When the temperature of water exceeds 100C, it turns into vapor.
The solutes in the water (eggs in this case) will not exceed the temperature of the water.

Since water evaporates at 100C, the eggs will never exceed 100C.

Thus, constantly heated boiling water will not modify the eggs, regardless of the strength of the heat source. The strength of the heat source only increases the rate of evaporation.

The same logic applies to cooking oil and fried/ stir fried foods.

>GMOs aren't bad

GMO crops are used along with a massive amount of pesticides, tailored specifically for the GMO crop. Pesticides have nearly all been linked or proven to be carcinogenic. I don't think I need to explain how eating something made to kill organisms could be bad for your health.

You are all calling anti-GMO people hippies while completely neglecting the massive propaganda campaign undertaken by Monsanto and other companies to not only make GMOs appealing, but to make it illegal to label GMO crops, which is a part of the most recent TTP deal papers. Unless you work for one of these companies, you shouldn't see such legal clauses as positive.

Yes, Organic means different things to different people and isn't well regulated. That is no excuse for defending GMOs which are made for the purpose of being heavily processed. Yes, GMOs are great for feeding Raj Patel in India who would starve without them. Yes, I know basically everything today is GMO and don't really find them bad or unhealthy, just a means to making more over processed shit food.

No, I am not going to meme on anti-GMO people because Monsanto has yet to send me my check. I think you are all idiots on both sides for arguing about GMOs when the corporate practices surrounding them are the issue.

Once boiling, take egg(s) directly from the fridge and put them in the basket, put the lid on and leave the heat on.
Minimum 6 minutes for runny, maximum 12 minutes for solid-to-overcooked. I like 7-8 minutes for a mostly solid yolk with a gel-like center.

Remove from heat, transfer eggs to an ice bath (Bowl, water, ice, sprinkle of salt, try to make sure they are submerged), leave until chilled, max 15 minutes. If you are in a hurry, you can just run them under cold water for a little bit.

Tap the wide/flat end of the egg on the counter and roll it gentle to start breaking the sides, then start peeling under cold running water.

Should come out perfect 99.8% of the time and not have that weird dimple in the wide/flat end.

As a person who has kept chickens, I have to say it's the freshness of the egg that makes them harder to peel. I've boiled eggs collected in the morning that had runny yolks that were nearly impossible to peel
