I've had a tiny fridge & freezer from the 80s for the last 3 years I've lived in this apartment, but yesterday I got a hand me down side by side fridge & freezer that's twice as big. With so much more space, I can finally batch cook.

So far I've made a crock pot of Korean beef and a massive pot of chicken, veg, and noodle soup as well as a dozen muffins.

What do you like to make a big batch of and then portion out for the freezer? I'm so excited to fill that sucker up.

No one here does this?

I prefer to batch before I cook. Clears my head and allows me to focus on the task at hand.

I'm not feeling very well today, so I don't reply, okay?

I'm sorry, do you want some water?

Chili and bolognese are my go-to batch meals. Anything that uses minced meat it good really.

Whenever I make a big stew with actual whole chunks of meat rather than minced I always find it lasts a lot less.

Wow, did they idolise people with Downs in those days? I understand the humor behind this image, but their facial features look exactly what was considered "beautiful" in paintings in that time.

Sure. I've made twice now, following this recipe. It's uncharacteristically healthful for Sara.

It's so fucking good and goes a long way. I've added in sweet bell pepper slices, plan to try even more vegetables next time (I think broccoli, sweet potato, and bean sprouts would be fantastic in here).

Why not? I dumped more mushrooms than that it at the beginning both times and I am very pleased with the way they feel and taste. They are quite soft, though, so it's a preference thing and I'm sure if you put them in later (maybe in the last 2 hours) they'd still be flavorful w/o being quite as soft
