LOOKS like chicken of the woods, but be fucking careful, OP. Make sure you can truly identify it before consuming it .

That was my first thought, but images I've seen online show cotw as having kind of an orange stripe. idk if they all look like that or if there's some variation

chicken of the sea, is it chicken?

Would you describe them as rubbery or corky/rigid? That makes all the difference.

Also if it's orange/reddish on the top or bottom stay away, but patches are okay.

Regardless, the only lookalikes of chicken-of-the-woods mushrooms are nontoxic but bad-tasting. So if it tastes like ass you got the wrong one, but you won't die.

I don't think it's hen of the woods

He asked /ck/, and /ck/ answered. What he does with that information is his own problem. I bet you're a litigious, others-blaming fucktoid.

I like this website for muchroom IDs. In their points, they also list poisonous/inedible lookalikes.

http://northernbushcraft.com/mushrooms/chickenOfTheWoods/notes.htm

It looks legit to me, plus you can exclude the inedible lookalikes (which are not toxic anyway)

Looks like a chicken of the woods to me, where exactly are you OP? You can do a region search on google.
