Of course not. They all taste completely different.

Aspartame doesn't have the mouthfeel that sugar has, that's why diet anything will always taste shittier than the real thing. And while I have no proof that Diet Soda is less healthier I will contend I've never seen a thin person drinking diet soda, so clearly the product doesn't work in making people thinner.

Corn Syrup is an iffy issue, I blind taste tested the Mexican Coke with a HFCS Coke and I really couldn't tell you difference. I do prefer the Mexican version because you can't top the goodness of glass.

As counter-intuitive as it might sound, if you don't regularly consume foods high in either regular sugar or HFCS, it's pretty easy to tell the difference between the two.

I've never heard/read either of those until now. Would not believe it if said seriously.

Being ignorant of very common food items doesn't make you sound smart.

Maybe they're called something different where you're from...

That is completely counter-intuitive

I'd compare it to smoking cigarettes.

Someone who doesn't regularly smoke will have a much more acute sense of the taste, and body feel, of various forms of tobacco.

It isn't the greatest analogy, but it's very much true.

When you're addicted to something, and consume it throughout the day, it sometimes happens that you actually lose your ability to taste differences, or otherwise discern how your body might be reacting differently.

It's true, when I drank soda daily it wasn't shit to me....after I stopped drinking it for a long period of time only then did I start to realize just how sweet it actually was, not only that but could taste the corn syrup in comparison to say fruit juice, and also the caffeine....I used to be able to drink 3-4 energy drinks a day and feel normal, these days half a glass of coke in the morning will get me sprung

Thanks for backing up my post, anon.

I hate to be that guy saying everyone is addicted to whatever sugar and just don't realize how different things taste when you only have them occasionally, but it's true as fuck.

On the other hand, half of my daily calories come from vodka. While drinking lots of liquor most definitely gives you a more discerning taste for various types/qualities of alcohol - compared to non-fermented sugars - I really can't judge anyone.

They taste like HERESY, not real sugar.

Are you Russian or just a normal alcoholic?

Just normal alcoholic.

The worst part is that I got my first app device recently and started tracking my food on MFP... I've love almost 15 pounds by cutting calories and eating healthier, but still drink just as much.
