If you want to boil water faster, consider putting ice in the pot instead of water

The quick change in temperature will destabilize the molecules and ensure a faster boil.

Why not just light it on fire?

It would stabilize the molecules and make achieving a boil more difficult.

No it won't dumbass. This is good if your goal is just to create vapor. You might be able to achieve fast sublimation or evaporation this way, but it won't get you a pot of boiling water quicker. Your understanding of this is grossly incorrect.

how many ice? 50%? 100%?

you mean if I froze my pot of water first at -20°c and then put it on a fire it will boil faster then the same pot with water at +20c°

If you want to test if your deep fryer is at the right temperature just throw some ice into the oil

if its the right temperature you should get a nice relaxing mist coming from the fryer

If the oil is hot enough, hydrogen bonds between water molecules in ice break immediately, causing sublimation. That's where the pleasant vapor comes from.

Microwaves cook food from the inside out, that's why if you microwave an egg for the exact right amount of time, the yolk will be cooked but the white will remain gelatinous, causing sublimation.

>>6889398
No dumbass, you're supposed to heat your icetray up in the microwave until it is boiling, and then throw it in the back of the freezer and have icecubes in half the time it would normally take, goddamn.

This is why we don't play telephone kids.
