What's the simplest and cheapest nutritionally complete meal? "Nutritionally complete" as in it could serve as a full diet.

Pic not really related. I know it isn't rice and beans.

i make that for my mother because she likes it but that shit is disgusting.

Oats and milk. Eggs and rice with frozen veggies.
First things that come to mind.

every heard of raw veggies? pretty good stuff

Wouldn't you get scurvy? Or did you mean all of that stuff you mentioned?

You get slightly more bang for your buck with frozen veg than fresh.
>>6887145
One for breakfast, the other for lunch and dinner!

>> No.6887162

I once was told you can (theoretically) survive from only potatoes and eggs. I sure could have such a diet for a long term.

>> No.6887165

Variation is the most nutritionally complete.

Buy foods like brown rice, whole wheat pasta, (sweet) potatoes and dried beans in bulk, add vegetables and good meat when it's on sale once in a while.

Don't look for a single meal.

I'm thinking more from a theoretical perspective. Mental exercise kind of thing.

I think potatoes, rice, and beans would even each other out pretty well. Most people aren't considering the really cheap greens like collard and watercress, though.

How do you mean even each other out? As in being nutritional equals?

Because beans are magic wonderfood.

I mean that they would create a nutritionally balanced meal when eaten together. Beans are great, but they're not a complete source of protein and most don't have any vitamin A, B, C, or D.

>not a complete protein
Sure, but they still have all the essential amino acids, just not the right amounts of each. If you're just eating beans you'll get enough protein.

Greens, greens & more greens.

Throw an egg in there & some fats, if yoo can spare the dime.

One would, yes. The best is oats, milk and potatoes. Look it up.

There's literally no reason to incorporate greens into your diet if you're concerned about finances.

A diet of varied grains (oats in the morning, rice/taters/pasta at night) and beans will provide you with sufficient fiber and any trace minerals you need.

Vegetables are literally a hoax - if they don't add to a meal, don't bother wasting money on them.

Not completely true. You can grow things like duckweed on your own for basically free, and it's 43% (?) protein.

Vitamin K. Tough to find without greens or a LOT of potatoes and beans.

A bag of frozen peas is also cheap and tasty and rounds the nutrient base out well.

sunflower seeds are a pretty cheap and nutritious snack.

They work well as a substitute for croutons in salads. Assuming your not a manchild.
