The best bbq sauce was this kind I used to see at Kroger and it had a cartoon pig on the front. The spicy one had a black label and a pitchfork. It tasted similar to stubbs but it was slightly less sticky.

Their normal sauce is "Jet Fuel" (derp) which is "Stanislaus 7/11" (one of the two premeir foodservice pizza tomatoes) with their own label on it. As far as I understand Jets uses All Trumps flour, 7/11 Tomatoes and Grande Mozzarella, which is basically the holy trinity of real NY style pizza.

I was grilling some chicken tonight and the fiancee decided she wanted "barbecue" chicken. Literally just had me slather this sweet baby rays shit all over it. I left two breasts unsauced for myself. I tasted the sauces portion and contemplated calling off our wedding on Saturday. I'm not typically a fan of most barbecue sauces, and I think this shit may have ruined me on wet barbecue altogether. I use Sweet Baby Ray's as a base for making BBQ sauce cause I'm lazy.

usually I add;
paprika
cayenne
rosemary
GARLIC
onion or onion powder
red pepper flakes
a finely diced jalapeno or habenero(when I have them and when I'm certain my friend who's alergic won't be eating)
salt
little bit of lime juice
cut up pieces of half-cooked bacon

probably forgetting lots of stuff here, I mostly just grab spices by scent and add on a by taste basis; mix over low heat and wait for the stuff to come off the grill from the first pass.

a half quart of sauce for every rack of pork ribs(more or less).

aside from that specific thing though, I detest BBQ sauce.
