How do you cook your tofu?
It's my third time trying this stuff, I have simply been frying an extra firm block in coconut oil with paprika, garlic powder, thyme and basil.
The first time I tried this I tried making a scramble out of it with a vegetable stirfry. I messed it up badly enough that I had to take the time to try and pick all of it out after.

I don't cook it. I add cubes of cold tofu to food while I'm eating it. The tofu acts like ice cubes that cool the food in my mouth so I don't burn myself. Great with hot chili.

but it tastes great. I was burning my mouth so bad eating chili and I didn't even know it, because it didn't feel that hot. My gums were bleeding and I didn't know why. My cheeks were getting lesions on them too. Then I figured it out. Now everything I cook cools for a while before I put it in the mouth.

Cut in slices, then I boil it in salt water for 10-15 minutes. This makes it fry better for whatever reason and you don't have to press it. I coat it in batter/cornstarch then I fry it and proceed to make stir fry. This is with extra firm tofu btw, I don't have any experience with softer tofu yet

yeah I thought it was gingivitis and canker sores. But nope it was caused by eating hot food. My mouth is better now. My advice is to let food cool for a while before digging in.

I baked some in marinade today, then ate on sandwiches.
>300g of tofu, all sliced up
>cup of tomato paste
>cup of beer
>2 spoons of soy sauce
>1 spoon of honey
>smoked paprika, cumin, chili and salt+pepper to taste

It was alright.

Not just the oestrogen, it destroys your thyroid

Slice extra firm tofu into 1" thick slabs, then pat very dry with paper towels

Fry in oil until very crispy

Use as a cracker for hummus

how?

>> No.6850511

remember to dry that shit, also baking it in the oven for like 20-ish minutes helps. I think you can marinade it if you want, but I prefer it just plain if I'm using it for stir-fry.

Not that poster, but just google it if you're really curious. "Destroys your thyroid" is a troll-ly exaggerated claim, but there are known adverse health effects related to thyroid functioning when soy is consumed in conjunction with other conditions (e.g. iodine deficiency) or compounds.

I've never heard of this! I like cooking with tofu since it's cheaper than meat, but I hate pressing it out so this might be a total game changer for me.
