Bacon yes but you have to have pork to season the green beans. Personally I prefer smoked pork necks.

Keep in mind there are lots of ways to cook green beans this is just "stewed" or "southern style" they are equally as good blanched and sauteed with garlic and salt.

I try lots of different foods and I always come back to some simple fatty meals like this. As much as I enjoy some sushi with chili paste or falafel, I love me some chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and some southern green beans in a way I that touches my very soul. But I'm fat enough that I can't eat shit like that every day.
