Had these absolutely amazing buffalo wings this past week. I can't get over them. I never knew I liked buffalo wings so much. Has motivated me to research on a buffalo wing recipe. For those in nyc, if yall go to houston hall, def try them out. They were crispy, tender, very spicy, and had a vibrant orange color. I need to recreate it. Anyone have any recommended buffalo recipe or tips in general? I've never made buffalo wings before so I don't know where to start. They were coated like pic related. Thanks in advance.

Like "barbecue" or mole, there are thousands of slight alterations on the recipe.
Many restaurants are very proud of their sauce however, so your best bet would be to see if the shop sells their sauce.
If they purchase the sauce, you could go to their distributor.

Making them is really easy.

Core steps:
>Fry up the chicken
>Toss in the Sauce
>Serve

You can put a light dredge or full breading on it
I think the original recipe and "truest wings" just fry it strait.
You can optionally bake them, they won't be as crispy and awesome.

Fry first, then finish in the oven. I'd rather make BBQ wings. Or teriyaki wings. Dredge in Wondra type super-fine flour. Soak in buttermilk for 12 hrs before preparing. DON'T CROWD THE FUCKING PAN

good idea, i'll see if they sell it.

Fry to get a crispy ouside, and bake to cook the inside? Why not just go with one or the other. I get a steak you would put it on a pan for a crust, and oven for it to cook, but I'm not following why do both with wings. Do you soak all your wings in buttermilk ?

Right with you, OP. Buffalo wings are goddamn delicious with some beer.

Careful not to overcoat the wings with your preferred sauce though.

PS

For anyone living in the Chicagoland area, Buffalo Joe's has the best wings ever. Godlike.

Buffalo sauce is, at its core, just butter and Tabasco sauce! From there, flavor it slightly to your liking!

I fry mine, sauce n toss, then throw them in a 300F oven for a bit.
Helps them crisp up again.
I just use frank's red hot but the place I work at uses nova or something. I like their hotsauce. I think the bottle has an ugly chef on it.

That's because you're a fucking heathen who everyone hates going out with.

If you're in Chicago hit up Toon's or Bird's Nest. Buffalo Joe's is the shit.

close, but no cigar. the basic sauce uses frank's red hot, not tabasco.

>TFW Frank's has mellowed out ever since buffalo became a meme sauce

It's a sad, sad time to be alive.
