So I was travelling and on two particular days we couldn't find a restaurant open late at night so we ate a KFC and Subway.

Holy fuck. I expected to be bad but not THAT bad.

Subway:
>everything is bland
>sauces are cold as shit
>"steak" is actually burger filler crap that isn't even made with beef

The only thing OK with my sandwich was the raw onions. They didn't fuck that up. I never ate olives that tasted of nothing until I had this sandwich BTW.

KFC

>fries were crap, not crunch at all and dry and rubbery
>breaded chicken didn't have any of the mysterious spicy taste they keep marketing it to have, secret recipe my ass

Honestly as somebody who avoids these types of establishment I cannot help but wonder how many people who go there actually do it because they love the food or because they are brainwashed into thinking it is actually decently cheap food for the price.

You can generally eat better for the same price at any corner Italian restaurant/cafe.

It isn't even faster as these establishments always have super long queues.

I'm not American. We don't have the upper scale fast foods chains around here. Besides those two we have Pizza Hut, McD, Burger King and Dominos.

Also not sure why I'd want to go to a chain restaurant if I'm going to spend 15€ to 20€. I could get a nice steak and fries with a side of salad and a small aperitivo for that kind of money.

only the dredges of society work late night fast food, and trust me i know i worked nightshift at subways for 2 years.

the first 6 months i tried hard and made damn good food all the way through the shift, but after burning out i served some of the nastiest shit ever and just didnt give a fuck anymore. probably had to do with my rampant alcoholism at the time, and drugs.

i once did a shift coming off a 2 day speed bender and no sleep, i was debuzzing during the shift and i got so bad i couldnt even keep down water. customers were asking me if i needed to see a doctor i looked so ill.

Every kfc I've been to outside the USA had extremely bland chicken. Also the chicken was all the "original" coating and sat in these heated drawers until soggy. No spice at all, no extra crispy. You'd shit you're little triple-price €160 Muurcan blue jeans if you ever tried the real deal.
