I'd always thought candy corn was the worst candy in existence, until I dated a girl that kept candy corn and shelled peanuts in a bowl together on her table during the fall. The combination of the two elevates candy corn from absolute garbage into god tier. I think it must be a combination of the juxtaposition of textures, as well as a play on sweet and salty.
