Get the single patty burger and a small fries and that's probably still too much for one person to eat in one sitting.

I don't go often as 5 Guys is pretty expensive for fast food (though it is IMO the best fast food joint) and I'll leave the burger wrapped up for later, as the small fries is more then enough to fill me up.

Get a burger (or a cheeseburger if you want cheese) and get it with "the works". A small fries is PLENTY, unless you're sharing with someone else (a large fries is enough for 3 or 4 people).
Bear in mind, these are big, griddle cooked burgers. A Hamburger there is 700 calories. They also have Little burgers if you want something less heavy.
I like Five Guys, but I have to really be in the mood for a huge greasy burger to eat there. I eat one maybe 3-4 times a year.

small cajun fries, or regular fries with malt vinegar
I used to work there (got a free meal every shift I worked) and this is about the best thing I've come up with.

Like everyone says, the fries are the main reason to go there, though I don't understand all the hate on their burgers, I've always thought they were pretty good. But ya, their "thing" is that they throw an extra scoop of fries on top of everything in the bag, so even the smallest order of fries is usually too much to eat. You can get them plain, but I like the 5 guys style fries better which is a Cajun seasoning
