I don't need recommendations, I'm very well aware of all my alternatives. It's a means to an end.

hate on sapporo?

I'd be livid right now if I were not high-drunk.

No hate no them, japs can't make beer, they can't make wiskey either. They can't make much of anything unless they've stolen it from the USA or Europe.

One thing that they can do is fuck off.

I swear every hangover I have gets worse in a new way each time

Drove about 3 hours while being nauseous, just awful, puked as soon as I got home

Stomach still wonky

I'm not your gramps you sack of shit, but we do remember that the best thing the japs were capable of doing was a sneak attack on Pearl Harbor and siding with the nazis. Maybe you're the gramps for not remembering, that is you've gone stupid in the head.

Homebrewed amber ale in a cup from a local to-go beer place that sold my beer du jour

I accidentally did a "brew in a bag" without the bag, which for those in the know is a collosal fuck up. As such, the beer is unpalatable until you've had a few to drink. Thankfully I am properly conditioned for this beer and am enjoying it

yeah i'd have to agree after trying this one.

Sculptin makes me somewhat sad.

Kind of like the Vietnam vet yelling at kids to get off his lawn while remembering when life was different not so long ago, so too does Sculptin remind me of when Pale Ales were made with Chinook, Cascade, Amarrillo and Centennial hops.

Such citrus flavors! Such resiny undertones!
Now replaced by the tropical flavors of Mosaic hops and their Australian ilk. Given monikers of "All Day" or "Go-To" or "DayTime", these pineapple-and-passionfruit beers invalidate an essential aspect of beer; the grain

A blast from the past, Sculptin features the heavy citrus notes I remember so fondly but recalls the balanced malt character of an IPA all but lost in today's beer drinker

Beers have different styles and variations

News at 10

>> No.6803200

>>6803183
And are not restricted by ingredients, most "balanced" IPAs are still generally pretty hop forward

I don't think I've ever seen people complain about stouts being too malty. Hating on modern IPAs is just another trend in the anti-hipster culture

>> No.6803222

>>6803200
Yes, modern BJCP criteria on IPAs have been modified and expanded to a point in which they have no meaning

Body: Light to Heavy
>Either very malty or very light

Flavor: May encapsulate phenolic undertones (Belgian IPA) somewhat nutty (English IPAs) roasty/chocolate tones (Black IPAs) or crisp (American IPAs) flavors

Hops: May present citrusy, tropical, resiny, floral, herbal or phenolic flavor dependent upon individual style. Concrete is the "hop foward" presence of an IPA

Notwithstanding grain bill, carbonation or secondary flavorants, IPA is somewhat of a catch-all for a beer which someone tossed together on BeerSmith and corrected for one's ineptitude with an assault of ill-fitting hops
