If not all beer is supposed to be chilled, why is it all found in the chilled aisle of the supermarket?

It tends to keep better when it's consistently chilled.

Also as >>6783323 said, you won't find that everywhere.

Went to Edmonton on a business trip recently. No beer in grocery stores or gas stations. Hard as shit to even find a liquor store within walking distance of the hotel. Most beer including shit like bud light and coors cost $15 for a 6 pack. What the fuck is wrong with Canada?

Define chilled, to most Americans it means around 35 Fahrenheit and beer is usually best around 50- 60.

that varies widely by style
Lagers should be pretty cold, stouts not so much and most IPAs somewhere in between

beer is supposed to be chilled, but not all beers are supposed to be frosty cold. the reason shitty lagers like budweiser tells you to serve them ice cold is because it masks the shitty taste

It isn't, ever. Only Americans drink their beer like that, they need to freeze their tastebuds so they can freely consume their piss water.

I live in America (CA) and there are separate aisles for macro lagers and other beers. The lagers and 24 packs of stuff like Kona are chilled and the rest are in the dry section.

They allow it in Quebec and their bureaucracy is bloated AF. Has nothing to do with big government really, it's just that enough people don't go outside Canada or their home provinces so there isn't much motivation to repeal the prohibition-era laws. It is starting to change though, but not quick enough.

Only shitty beer needs to be chilled, if you have good beer it is best served at or slightly below 25°C tbh

>if you have good beer it is best served at or slightly below 25°C tbh
thats not really true, stouts, especially strong ones should approach about 18C I think, I can't think of any beers that should be served more warmly than an imperial stout. Lagers should be near 0C, especially lighter shittier ones, but even good ones should not get too warm.
I can't think of any beer that should be served above room temperature as you suggest

>only shitty beer needs to be chilled

Completely false

>if you have good beer it is served or at slightly below 25 celsius

That's absolutely ridiculous

Protip: Every style has it's own recommended serving temperature, and there's a lot of beers that are recommended by the brewery at least to their own specific temperatures (of course that's not required for an optimal experience in everyone's views). There are great lagers that are meant to be chilled

There is almost no beer that I can think of that is recommended at serving almost equivalent 80 degrees fahrenheit, that's absurd

50-60 max

>> No.6785827

Does it really matter if it's chilled as long as you serve it at the right temperature?

I mean as long as you're not constantly cooling it and warming it, does it really matter?
