Furikake is good, but those look hand rolled. Spam musubi should be unnaturally square, due to the press.

They're not the greatest thing in the world, and are terribly unhealthy, but having grown up in Hawaii Spam musubi is pretty much the definition of comfort food for me.

I don't know anyone in NJ that eats SPAM at all, though I saw a display with it at Acme where if you buy SPAM you get free store brand mac and cheese. Apparently you're supposed to serve them together, which sounds nightmarish.

I've actually never heard of pork roll before except for Porchetta, which is a rolled up pork loin and Italian herbs. After a google search, Spam and pork roll look pretty similar, but this 'porj roll' looks a lot like a bologne. Spam is a lot like tinned ham, or even deviled ham, but more salt.

Spam is expensive too for what it actually is, but it's really good with eggs and as a cheap fryable meat

I really like spam, you know, once or twice a year. Fried in sandwiches with pineapple and sauce. Tried the musubi thing but was pretty underwhelmed.


Problem is that it is quite expensive for what it is. Real, properly cured ham is cheaper here.

Best way to cook spam is fry it in a pan, make a fried egg, toast two bagels with mayo and mustard on them, place spam and egg on bagel and boom you got a bad ass sandwich
