An onion tasting custard. Is it good? No.

custard and garbage

Smells like rotten garbage, softer flesh is custard-like and tastes as such, firmer flesh tastes like onions.

Worth trying at least once

Strong taste of rotten onions and gym socks initially, gives way to citrus and vanilla. Each taste you have to go through the rotten onions to get the citrus and vanilla. It's like nature playing a trick on you. Then you burp the rotten onion taste for the next couple hours.

It's compelling, but not for everyone. I've seen otherwise adventurous eaters spit it out in shock. I like it in a fresh juice fruit shake.

Just be sure to get it as fresh as possible. Not sitting in the back end of some ghetto ass Asian market.

It's not to be eaten at all outside of SEA, it's an acquired taste when you eat it in a pristine state, and it's flat out horrible if you eat something that was shipped thousands of miles to you in a cargo hold.
