Well i believe they might be better than the foods that the average American flyover consumes daily, i've never been to the United States but from what i have gathered and i understood over the years to my knowledge is that Americans eat really, really bad food, even people who are considered middle-class like Jack eat basically scraps. I live in Europe and i consider myself to be relatively poor but comparing shit that he makes (to my understanding that's at least a little better than the average American) i eat like a celebrity, I have lived my whole life in a family full of cooks and chefs and worked in restaurants and i can't afford half the things he has, i live in an apartment that would compare to some Americans closet, but i have never served food as terrible as he does.

If I wanted to give a visitor a taste of good pizza from my home town I wouldn't take them to Papa Johns or Little Caesar's. The reason food is better in Europe probably has to do with the fact that people eat more regional and season food which will always be cheaper. In America everyone eats basically the same food. Local specialties exist but only as specialties. Given the geographic and climactic differences between the two NY and LA should have completely different cuisines. As different as Brussels and Naples. But 90% of the food people eat in both cities is the same. That means a lot of shit is being flown in for mass consumption. Which means cheap local ingredients aren't being used as much. Doesn't help that people who eat local are ready to pay 4x for the privilege.
