I want to make a pizza. While I could google it and try to find a recipe, I don't know if it'd actually be any good. Unfortunately /ck/ doesn't have a wiki or sticky or something, so does /ck/ have recommendations for references on how to make a good pizza? Something simple to start with.

Visitor from /a/, on 4chan you could try asking /r/ or /diy/. Youtube should have a ton of how to make pizza videos.

Google it. Look on top recipe sites. Read reviews. Follow recipes.

you don't think you can find a recipe on google, which will link you to actual recipe sites, but think you can get better advice from a sri lankan yak trading message board....

ok

Well here I can get a little more interaction.

Find any pizza dough recipe. Cut the yeast down to 1/4. Increase the rising time to 24 hrs total. Nothing good happens fast.

The vast majority of interaction you'll get here is negativity and trolling.

You're much better off googling it and reading reviews on recipe sites.

you mix flour, yeast, water, salt and olive oil for the dough, and put whatever you want on it. the better quality of the toppings the better it tastes

Pizza stone or grill is a necessity.

I'll write this like you're a complete idiot about cooking. Just make it easy for your first pizza.

Get flour, water, olive oil, and yeast.
Heat the water, about a cup or so to 120-140 degrees, Use a thermometer, or know that when you can put your finger in without getting too bad of a burn, but it still hurts like hell, that's the right temperature.

Throw in a packet of yeast. Dry Fleischmann's brand or something works if that's what you want to start with. Or if you plan on doing it a lot, by fresh or a jar of dry yeast. Add in about 1/4oz.

Pour that into the water, let it sit in a relatively warm room or even covered loosely on a porch if your house is cold for about 20 minutes.

Throw in 2tbsp or so of olive oil. I dunno. Never measured.

Slowly with either a dough hook or your hands, mix in flour. It's going to be about 1.5 cups or so. Maybe less. Maybe more. It'll be almost elastic. Pliable. Not runny or anything. Throw in a little sugar too. Tbsp or so. This'll help the yeast. While cooking a few of the starches will break down into the sugars, letting the yeast metabolize them, letting the dough puff up. This helps that. Wait an hour or two, roll it out or toss it until it's about a quarter inch thick.

Bake at 300F until cooked to the point of almost being edible. Remove, throw on your sauce/tomato and cheese, and toppings, place middle of the oven, broil on high until done. Less than 5 minutes.

Again, this is the easiest, dumbest way to make it, but it'll work.

Giada did this the other day and used a food processor to do all the mixing, it couldn't be more simple.

She made a dessert pizza, but I've used it a few times for a quick and easy pizza.

Make bread dough, except add a few tablespoons of olive oil to it, and a bit more salt.

Boom, pizza dough.
