Why is the baconator so good bros? Idk about you guys, but the wendys near my place makes their bacon crispy as fuck, none of that soft gummy shit

Wendys burgers and fries are always so small and depressing.
I keep forgetting it exists

It's the mayo and bacon

>All the wendy's in willamette valley closed like 8 months ago without warning.

>still not open, no sign of wendys ever returning, the stores are being gutted and all the shit is being removed from them.

I dont even get fast food burgers any more unless its from five guys, and even five guys makes me feel like complete shit after ive eaten it.

Carls Jr. is soggy shit and hasn't been good since I was in high school. Mccy D's is out of the question, jack in the box was bad.

I was out of town and had their ghost pepper cheese fries. It was good, despite it probably knocking a month off my life expectancy and using that fake cheese shit that I hate eating.

And baconators are the fucking bee's knees. I enjoyed getting a son of baconator before hitting the gym for an hour.

How much does a fairly standard burger cost in five guys? They've opened a couple in my city (in the UK), and they're around £8 for just a basic cheeseburgrr type thing with no side/drink, which seems fucking ridiculous to me.

>> No.6712252

>>6712077
Isn't that burger literally 750 calories?

>> No.6712256

>>6712249
8 EUROS is ridiculous. But that might be for the double cheese burger

I usually get the little bacon cheese burger (single patty), which is ~ 4.79 american. That comes with all the toppings you want after that.

Then I usually get the small fries, because they still put a shit ton in your bag for you. If you get kind of bro-y, you can imply that youd like another scoop of fries in the bag and theyre usually down.

>> No.6712260

>>6712256
I forgot to mention, the double bacon cheese burger is only 6.99 USD. Thats the biggest burger you can get there, and it comes with all the toppings they offer as well.

I would try it once if I were you. Its apparently a large deal to some people, and the burgers are indeed large as fuck and completely filled with toppings. But you might have it and might think its complete shit, but its an experience I suppose.

It's completely over shadowed to me by In n Out, which I grew up on for 20 years. I want to try whataburger and white castle eventually.

Id like to try all these places, seeing as it's only really mcd's and bk here, so when I saw the five guys going up I was looking forward to trying it. I think they're going for the hipster " gourmet " crowd. The reasoning seems to be "if we charge a lot, people will think it's good "

>> No.6712357

>>6712343
I dont think it has that hipster ideal in the states. Its just greasy food served in a brown paper bag. At least its old enough here to not be hipster. In the UK, I could totally see them getting away charging a hipster tax on food that isn't honestly that great. Its not a sit down meal. I've paid less for burgers that are actual restaurants and taste better than the inevitable 10-12 euros you'd spend after fries and a soda

The vast majority of them do, the only time it isn't is when the staff are niggers or they are so pressed for orders that they pull them out early before they're finished cooking and it muddles the whole thing
Best Baconator I ever had I got no mayo(because mayo is shit)
And they gave me a regular quarter pound patty like they were supposed to but instead of a second one they gave me two regular sized patties on top of it instead
and the bacon was fucking godly
>mfw I will never taste one that is so good ever again

Side note: Am I the only one that hates getting fresh dropped fries from wendy's because the salt wont set on them?

>Five Guys? Yeah I went to the one in X. It was terrible

>Oh, the one in Y is better? X is notoriously terrible? Sure, I'll give it another go

>Wow, that sucked. Oh, all the Five Guys in my state are terrible? Well, I'm in CT next week so I'll try one down there...

b'out $7.50
They charge you for everything individually because in order to keep their costs reasonable despite using only pure fresh ingredients. It's honestly the only way to get stuff that fresh for the prices they charge.
The thing that gets me is back when I was in school and they first came to my city the fries were beyond beautiful.
Then after I finished(about 2 years alter) they stopped putting anywhere near the amount of seasoning on them.
>mfw they still go crazy with the Cajun shit though

>> No.6712758

>>6712737
The thing about Five Guys is that everything is about as fresh as it can be, that's why they write down what farm the day's potatoes came from on the white board every morning.
When it comes to consistency there isn't many places better.
I live in Florida so we have a million different places saying they make the best or amazing burgers and hardly any of them are very special.
I have yet to have anything better than a bacon cheeseburger from Steak 'N Shake. Hands Down.
The way they make their beef just sells it for me and the bacon is always right.
Too many places just think that because they have a fuckton of meat or they are using some kind of special bun means they're any better and they really aren't.
But a properly crafter burger is all very subjective and the only objective fact that exists for them at all is that the more messy they are the better they are

going to 5 guys is like going to subway, if you dont get a pretty much all dressed burger its not worth the money you pay.

if you really like processed food you wont like it either, go to mcdonalds if you want cheap/tasty food.
if you give a shit what you put into your body then go to 5 guys.

probably very expensive per calorie though
