Use Oriental or mushroom flavor and add chopped green onion, red pepper flakes, mushrooms and a soft boiled egg cooked to the point where the yolk is just sort of congealed. Then you don't get grainy egg yolk bits floating around the soup but the yolk doesn't just run liquified into the broth.

i usually drop the egg in for the last minute of boiling. You can also whip the egg, stir the boiling water so its spinning in the pot and then slowly pour the egg in to create those ribbons of egg you see in egg drop soup or whatever
