I use both. Romano is cheaper and lasts longer because you need lesser for the same flavour. But parmesan is too distinct in it's flavour to be dropped completely. That said I might switch to romano as my go to sprinking cheese and save the parmesan for dishes that explicitly call for it.

I agree. Such a crazy amount of flavor for the money. I really love parmesan, but pecorino romano is my favorite hard cheese.
