Why would anyone ever use a toaster? A buttered fry pan always results in superior flavor and texture.

...and you can spread whatever you want on toast and there really isn't a difference in flavor or texture...

There definitely is, since using this superior method lets the butter soak into the bread as it cooks.

It's also more convenient imho, since you don't have to mess with buttering up the bread manually. Only problem is you have to flip it once. Big deal.

What if you're making a BLT and want to use mayonnaise instead of butter? What if you're making peanut butter toast or a toasted PB&J?

>> No.6646304

because fried bread != toasted bread

Then again you gotta wait for the pan to heat up, butter the pan, spend extra effort to flip and not burn the bread, wash it afterwards and deal with bigger electricity/gas bill.

Butter the bread. Not the pan.

Wow you're right, that completely addresses all of the drawbacks to using a pan. Be right back, throwing out my toaster.

If you used cast iron you wouldn't need to wash it.
