Can /ck/ suggest some good chocolate for me? I'd like to move beyond grocery-store chocolate, but I don't want to just randomly try expensive shit.

>> No.6633353

But OP Milka is inexpensive, has a variety of flavors, and fills your heart with happiness. What other chocolate do you need?

This stuff is weird but I like it.

I've tried that once. It had kind of a (unpleasant) gritty-sugar texture. If that's not consistent to the entire brand, I think I might try it again.

>>6633400
You are supposed to throw it into boiling milk in order to disolve it not to eat it

>> No.6633539

>>6633400
No, it's consistent to the brand. They skip a step that a lot of other modern chocolatiers do, known as conching, they say it is better for flavor or some shit.

It's completely fine with me, much better than these shitheads who don't even roast because >muh raw phytosuperfoodnutrients chakra enhancers

Sometimes you're not in the mood for that kind of texture.

I used to work for a candy store, and let me tell you: the vegan candy bars are some of the best chocolate I've ever had, and I've had chocolate from around the world. Find a brand near you and get to it

>> No.6633575

Just get a variety of high cacao percentage bars, they're at most $10 a pop and there's a lot of good stuff for much less than that.

what the fuck are these shits? Since when can you squeeze out candies from animals?

most of the sweets I used to like as an omnivore actually had animal products in them, I was big on gummy stuff but that has gelatin in them, now as a vegetarian I still have some choices in biscuits and chocolate and candy bars, but as soon as I go vegan there'll be no relatively cheap sweets, which is bizarre to me, I've tried a few vegan chocolates/bars and they've been top notch but pricey, with gummies being just absurdly expensive

>> No.6633633

>>6633624
But the vegan gummies are really good too. We had a brand called SurfSweets whose sour bears and worms were AMAZING.

It's worth the price for me to just splurge occasionally.

This has been my favorite for the last few months

Toblerone is also fantastic if you want a sweeter chocolate.

I like the one with chili. Most people I know don't like the texture but I think it's neat. Never tried it in milk though, will do next time I buy some.

I like theo brand chocolate as well and I bought a whole bunch of expensive bars in germany that I don't know the name of that were god tier.

I've been curious. Isn't there a difference between European chocolate and American chocolate? I heard that European milk chocolate lists milk before sugar in its ingredients, while the opposite holds true for American milk chocolate.

Is this true? If so, where in the US can I find European-style chocolate?

This used to be the best chocolate I could find locally until they got bought out by Hershey's. They're still really great though.

This chocolate from Madagascar is awesome.

It didn't seem great and kind of a pretentious WF thing.

I personally like any mid-range (not fair trade, imported whatever but not corn syrup ether) milk or dark chocolate bar, taken home and microwaved until sticky outside (a few seconds) and then sprinkled with cayenne and salt, then chilled until hard.

Milka at Aldi should hold true and says product of Germany but they could alter it to cater to Americans, like how Mexicans get sugar in their coke while we have HFCS also >>6636193 if they sell their Madagascar whatevers they must have chocolate from Germany or Switzerland.

HA, that's bittersweet chocolate.
