When I first heard about Korean style, stainless steel chopsticks with a big old spoon on the side I thought, "fuck yeah, that's all we need."

Then I ordered a set of Korean chopsticks and realized I never learned how to use them correctly, despite growing up in an area that was predominantly Asian, and used chopsticks (mostly Japanese and Chinese) since I was around 4.

There's a reason we cut a piece of meat before bringing it up to our mouth instead of grabbing the steak and taking a bite out of it

>> No.6613181

Fork and knife are much more efficient than chopsticks, also all of the food needs to be cut up before served if you're using chopsticks, which makes some dishes look bad.

True but chopsticks are a lot lighter.
This is an advantage if you are a ninja and spend all day and night climbing walls and sword fighting and throwing spiky kung fu stars at people.
I learn't about Japan from anime and 1980's martial arts films.

I really enjoy the use of chopsticks. I steal them from everywhere in my purse so I have a lot. Have not yet invested in any good ones. But I like eating all sorts of food.

Usually I dress a fancy plate with food, be it steak, salt and vingaer chips, macroni salad, aspargus, and I eat it with the chopsticks.

I also pour shots of milk into a tiny little shot glass and swig it back.

I often pretend Im in a yakazu bar or fancy japaese restraurant and pretend to have a convseration with the boss about random things while eating. I also pretend that Im the waiter and cook with im cooking and giving myself dishes and I thank myself for the service and often leave a tip undermy plate for myself for later.

Hi there!

You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of 4chan are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have used a tripcode when posting, but your identity has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using your tripcode when the thread it was used for is gone, unless another one is started! Posting with a tripcode when it isn't necessary is poor form. You should always try to post anonymously, unless your identity is absolutely vital to the post that you're making!

Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my bit to help you get used to the anonymous image-board culture!

I think chopsticks are marginally more flexible, but only really in combination with a spoon.

There's a small handful of things that are easier to eat with chopsticks. Mostly along the lines of fragile bite sized things like some dim sum, very flat things like salad leaves, and thin things like noodles or string beans. The "gently scooping items together" action can be replicated with a knife and fork though.

Forks are a little easier for eating small disparate items like peas and semi-solid stuff like mashed potatoes, but only really by replicating the function of a spoon.

On an unrelated note, what the fuck is this thing captcha just showed me?

I feel like rounder objects are harder to get with forks
they roll off if you try and scoop them up
you accidentally smash them against the plate when you stab at them
and then you have to scrape your fork against the plate, the sound of which doesn't bother me but bothers some
